چکیده

Objectives: The aim of this article is to explain the detailed methodology record Motor evoked potential (MEP) and somatosensory (SSEP) in adult albino Wistar rat, male (200–250 g) which has not been defined previously. Materials Methods: We have standardised recording both MEP SSEP these rats under anaesthesia on ADI digital polyrite system. Results: Evoked potentials widely studied spinal cord injured patients estimate degree injury establish a predictive measure functional recovery. MEPs SSEPs, arising from motor cortex or peripheral nerve generated either by direct electrical stimulation transcranial magnetic stimulation, advocated as reliable indicator descending ascending pathway integrity. In rat brain, there physical overlap between cortex. Hence, our objective was identify exact area for where we could maximum response with application minimum stimulation. Conclusion: together provides powerful neurological technique monitor tracts cord.

Intraoperative Somatosensory and Motor Evoked Potential Recording and Electroencephalographic Monitoring Usefulness During Aneurysm Surgery

In the last 20 years, there have been advances in techniques and instrumentation for intracranial aneurysm exposure and obliteration [94]. However, it seems that 32% of the patients, who underwent surgery, suffer a fatal outcome or some form of sequelae [20]. Primary brain damage due to subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) and to a vasospasm, is the major cause of mortality and morbidity; but surgery...

Diagnostic Accuracy of Combined Multimodality Somatosensory Evoked Potential and Transcranial Motor Evoked Potential Intraoperative Monitoring in Patients With Idiopathic Scoliosis.

STUDY DESIGN Systematic review. OBJECTIVE The aim of the study was to determine the predictive value of combined multimodality somatosensory evoked potential (SSEP) and transcranial motor evoked potential (TcMEP) monitoring in detecting impending neurological injury during surgery for idiopathic scoliosis. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA The diagnostic of motor evoked potential monitoring and SS...

Simultaneous recording of evoked potentials and T2*-weighted MR images during somatosensory stimulation of rat.

Somatosensory evoked potentials (SEP) and T2*-weighted nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) images were recorded simultaneously during somatosensory stimulation of rat to investigate the relationship between electrical activation of the brain tissue and the signal intensity change in functional NMR imaging. Electrical forepaw stimulation was performed in Wistar rats anesthetized with alpha-chloralo...
